This ring is inspired by interwined patterns commonly used in the Viking age. 800 A.D.
It is also known as Viking weave ring or Viking braid ring.
It is similar to rings found in an archaeological site in Norway many years ago.
Vikings appreciated the aesthetics and allure of finely crafted precious metals. That being said, unlike most ancient cultures, Viking jewelry pieces typically had two purposes, being used both for its sheer beauty and as a form of money, much like carrying coins in your pocket today.
Many inspiring pieces of Viking jewelry, some of which contain gold, have been unearthed at a rural location in Denmark that dates as far back as 1,300 years.
Althoug Vikings have a perceived reputation as being violent raiders, they were also mostly farmers, traders and explorers, and the metal craftsmanship involved in their jewelry showcases their incredible artistic skills.
Archaeologists along with historians and the local community used state of the art metal detecting equipment to find the jewelry in different areas throughout a rural site on Zealand, the largest island in Denmark. The remains of this archaeology site, which is now called Vestervang, date from the late 7th to the early 11th centuries.
